Garden Sheds
The buildings constructed in gardens that are used to store
gardening tools and perform simple gardening procedures are
known as Garden sheds. Generally people try and make their
garden sheds look attractive so as to create an overall pleasing
effect in the garden. There are basically two types of garden
sheds in the market. The traditional garden shed has a V shaped
pointed roof whereas the pent roof sheds have an inverted U
shaped roof. Other differences being the entrances the V shaped
garden shed has an entrance on one of its ends where as the U
shaped shed has it on the sides. A third kind of Garden shed is
the one made out of metal which has a flat roof.
The primary function of a garden shed is to provide storage for
gardening equipment. These may include bags of fertilizers,
seeds, hoes, scissors and other basic gardening equipment. These
items are necessary for the up keep of the garden but if they
were to be left out in the open they would be a source off
displeasure to the eye as well as liable to the effects of
weathering. The garden shed also serves as a sanctuary to
perform all the messy jobs associated with gardening.
Generally people prefer garden sheds made out of wood. If you
are looking for cheap wood then softwood is quite inexpensive
but vulnerable to the effects of weathering. The more expensive
wood like Cedar wood will last much longer because it is
resistant to rotting. One can paint the wood any color they like
to make it blend in with the surrounding environment. To protect
the wood from being damaged by insects and pests one should
treat it with preservatives. There is however another
alternative that does not give any of the complications that
wood has and these are the Poly vinyl garden sheds which are the
most popular and cost effective types of garden sheds.
